Venue
At the foot of the Italian Alps, the Lake Maggiore is a paradise for a dream vacation. Its surface of 212 km² offers enchanting and romantic landscapes to discover without delay.
One of the pearls of the lake is the characteristic small town of Baveno (Vb, Piedmont), which is famous for its precious pink granite used in several buildings around the world: the Arc de la Paix and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele of Milan, the columns from the Paris Opera House, Saint Charles Church in Vienna, Christopher Columbus Monument in New York and Bangkok’s Royal Palace… Baveno is next to the lake’s most popular and picturesque town, Stresa, with its prestigious villas, its botanical gardens and of course the famous Borromean islands.
The city of Milan (fashion capital) is located 80 km south, Brussels 870 km north. The area is easily accessible by car, train and plane. The nearest airport is Milano Malpensa (45 km).
Accommodation
Our groups of tango dancers will be hosted in one of the luxurious Zacchera hotels (most probably we will be staying again in the Grand Hotel Dino in Baveno).
All hotels are in privileged positions on the shores of Lake Maggiore and the magnificent Gulf of the Borromeos.
Each of the Zacchera’s 4* hotels offers magnificent rooms, relax areas, bars, restaurants and a comfortable, spacious dancing room for the classes and the milongas, all air conditioned.
The highly professional staff, elegance, comfort and facilities will make your stay an unforgettably nice experience. All the hotels of the group are very luxurious and have been maintained excellent conditions.
The hotels are surrounded by large colorful gardens with flowers and exotic trees and have wonderful private swimming pools with sun loungers, umbrellas and towels. Spacious private hotel parkings are available at a friendly price.
All rooms are equipped with a private bath or shower, air conditioning, satellite TV, WiFi and many of the rooms offer a stunning view over the lake or the swimming pool. Most hotels have a private beach, or one at walking distance. They are all near the city centre and the shops.

Deposit of 385€ pp to be paid within 2 weeks after booking to the organisation. The remaining will have to be paid by bank transfer to the Hotel a few weeks before arrival.
EARLY BOOKING DISCOUNT: -50€ per couple for reservation and payment deposit before February 15th
Cancellation fees:
If the holiday had to be cancelled by the organisation or the hotel because of force majeure: your deposit will be reimbursed, except for a small non-reimbursable administration fee of 25€ pp.
In case of cancellation by the participant (for health, family, professional or other reasons):
– from 1 till 15 days after reservation: 25€ pp
– from 15 till 60 days after reservation: 50€ pp
– after May 1st: 50% of the reserved package
– after June 15th: the total amount is due, unless you propose someone else who takes over your package.
We advise you to take a private travel insurance to cover costs, as neither the organisation, nor the hotel can reimburse you if you have to cancel.
Package
Included in the price are
- Hotel in half board for 7 nights in a double room with private bathroom (bath/shower) and toilet, hair dryer, air conditioning, TV, telephone, WIFI, mini bar, safe. The participants have free access to the the the dancing rooms, the swimming pool, the garden chairs and several other hotel facilities.
- Breakfast (until 10h00) and buffet supper with typical Italian menu in the magnificent dining room reserved for the tango group, Varied buffet (vegetarian and not) with: first course, main course, side dishes, dessert. 1/4 L mineral water per person is included in the price.
- The 10 Workshops (tango, vals, milonga) at different levels with professional tango teachers (scroll down for details).
- The Milongas every evening and 1 or 2 milongas with exhibitions.
- Stand with Tangolera shoes & Rossaspina tango clothes and the possibility to order items upfront.
- Not included: private hotel parking (free parking is possible in some nearby streets), trip/shuttle to the hotel (on request), lunches, extras (drinks, snacks…), local tourist tax to pay at the moment of departure.
Teachers
The organisers and permanent teachers are Marisa & Oliver from La Tangueria Brussels (both weeks). The guest teachers are in the first week Mirella & Carlos from The Netherlands and the second week Natacha & Andrés from ParisBuenosAiresTango in France. For the beginners groups the team will be reinforced by a teaching couple from La Tangueria Brussels.
Marisa van Andel & Oliver Koch – Brussels/B, Al compás del corazón/La Tangueria
Organisers and Teachers both weeks
After a career in the contemporary dance company Rosas, Marisa & Oliver (NL/EN/FR/ES/IT/DE) have been working as a tango couple since 1996, giving workshops and exhibitions all over Europe as well as in the USA and Buenos Aires.
They danced in different tango shows in The Netherlands and Belgium and they collaborated with outstanding artists, such as Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Jan Fabre, Hubert Damen, Dimitri Leue, Frank Groothof…
They have trained and inspired many of today’s professional tango teachers and dancers in Belgium and abroad. They were part of several international tango festivals and collaborate since 2005 with the Brussels Tango Festival as well as with the Brussels Tango Marathon. They also have vast experience in teaching in and organising tango holidays in Italy, France, Spain and Austria.
Their tango school Al compás del corazón and their milonga in La Tangueria have become a reference for tango in Belgium and abroad.
Mirella & Carlos Santos David – Den Haag & Delft/NL
Guest teachers first week
We are very pleased to invite for the third time to our tango vacation the beautiful couple Carlos & Mirella (NL/EN/FR/ES/IT), based in the Netherlands. This couple is known and appreciated for their elegance, subtlety and musical finesse, as well as for their spectacular, breathtaking demonstrations. Their joint career started in 2011. Mirella’s technical background, who graduated from Dance Academia, is completed with Carlos’ years of dancing and teaching experience abroad.
Since 2016, Carlos and Mirella represent the Netherlands at the European and World Championships. They were European Champions Tango de Pista in 2017, and Finalists at the Mundial de Tango from 2016 ’till 2024.
Carlos & Mirella are also known via Dutch Television. They won the second place in the show “Everybody Dance Now” on RTL4 in 2015 and they were in the final of the TV show “Time To Dance” in 2018. As teachers, they excite tango lovers all over the world with their natural, humorous and well-structured way of teaching.

Guest teachers second week
We are very happy to introduce in 2025 a new rising couple to our participants: Andrés and Natacha from Paris (EN/FR/ES).
They have developed a new, fresh approach to tango, which has made them rising stars on the world tango scene. They are one of the leading tango couples in France, but also internationally more and more requested.
Insatiable, they are always setting themselves new challenges, exploring other paths to enrich their knowledge. Remarkable improvisers in social dance, expressive stage tango dancers, sensitive, creative and surprising in their video projects, Andrés and Natacha are multi-faceted dancers in constant search of innovation. They aspire to a warm, natural dance, far removed from clichés and focused on listening and improvisation, reconciling clear communication and gentle contact. They are open-minded, eager to share and highly pedagogical.
Classes/Workshops
The participants are divided into groups according to their level of tango. Since the average experience of the participants is over 8 years, the level is quite high. Depending on the experience of most of the participants, the groups can be of similar or different levels, such as one advanced and one very advanced group, or two equally advanced groups, or one advanced and one intermediate group.
These groups each have 10 lessons of 80-minutes included in the package. Since the classes will not be held at the same time, it is possible to multiply the number of workshops by following both groups. The advanced and intermediate groups will have 5 lessons with Marisa and Oliver and 5 with guest teachers.
If there are participants with less than 2 years of tango experience, a third (smaller) group is created for newcomers. These will have 3 to 10 semi-private lessons (depending on group size) with La Tangueria teachers.
There will be a variety of themes in the classes: tango de salón, tango fantasia, modern tango, vals and milonga. The classes will focus on quality and technique, as well as on detailed refinements regarding posture, axis & balance, embrace, foot work, adornos, musicality, leading and following. Students will learn new movements, figures and sequences, but the main goal is to create a more harmonious, comfortable and enjoyable dance.
The tango workshops are taught in a spacious, air conditioned dancing room, with a good dancing floor. The classes mainly take place after breakfast and before dinner. Each group will have one day without classes, and so have time to explore the region. A detailed programme of the classes will be sent to the participants about one month before the start of the holidays. The classes will be taught in English, but all the teachers speak several languages (French, Dutch, German, Spanish, Italian, etc.).
Normally the lessons are reserved for the participants of the tango holiday. If, at the moment the holiday starts, there is room in certain groups, some lessons can also be taken à la carte, provided that the hotel accepts pupils who are not staying in the hotel.
Milongas
Every evening, a milonga is organised for all participants in the magnificent dance hall.
At least 1 festive evening will be organised each week with a demonstration by the guest teachers, where local tango dancers will also be invited.
Some other milongas may also be open (for a fee) to non-participants in the tango holidays.
Shoes and clothes
A stand of Tangolera tango shoes and Rossa Spina tango clothes is present at the hotel during the holidays. Participants can place orders for shoes or clothing they would like to purchase on site until July 10. The collections are visible at www.tangolerashoes.com and www.rossaspina.it.
Singles
Registrations for the classes can only be done in couples. We try to help singles to find a partner by bringing them into contact with each other. Once registered as a dance couple, however, it is no longer possible to switch partners. So please verify that the relationship between the two dancers is good enough, before registering as a dance couple. Those who want to find a partner can send an e-mail with age, height, level and languages or place an ad on our facebook group. Participants who wish to find a room mate, can contact us.
Practical information
- Arrival is scheduled for Sunday, July 20 or Sunday, July 27. The first class takes place on Monday morning (for some participants arriving early, the first class may be on Sunday before dinner). Departure is on Sunday, July 27 or Sunday, August 3 after breakfast. The last class takes place on Saturday before dinner.
- For tango guests who want to arrive earlier or stay longer and for people who accompany dancers (spouses, children, babysitters …) we have negotiated a more favorable group price. To benefit of the discount price, reservations must be made via Marisa only, also for the non-dancers and the extra days. In exchange for the more favorable group price, a small commission will be charged for the organisation. Book your extra days at the time of the reservation to benefit of the best conditions.
ATTENTION: the possibilities to extend your stay after the first week or before the second week might be limited because the departure day of the first group is the same as the arrival day of the second group. - Also people who do not want to participate in the classes, but want to participate in the milongas only, can benefit of a discount group price to stay in the hotel, by booking via Marisa only, subject to availability. Participants who take the full package of hotel + classes + milongas have priority.

From the north (Belgium, the Netherlands, France, etc): Go to the South via the Gotthard Tunnel (CH). Shortly after the exit of the tunnel (+/- 30 minutes), take exit 47 Bellinzona Sud/Locarno. Take the A13 Locarno Tenero, follow the road towards Ascona. Enter Italy, follow Cannobbio, Cannero Rivera, Ghiffa, Intra, Verbania, Baveno, Stresa.
Bookings
All hotel reservations have to be made only via Marisa. Do not contact the hotel directly if you wish to benefit of the group prices or participate in the tango activities.
