NEW – SPECIAL OFFER FOR BEGINNERSFrom 4th to 11th August (2nd week), we will organize a special group for absolute and initiated beginners, which will be taught by Sabine Neumeister & Michel Vero (tango dancers trained by La Tangueria).
In this group, participants will learn or review the basics of tango: caminada, cuadrado, salida, ochos, giro, parada, mordida, etc. There will be special attention and new variations for those who already know the material, so everyone will expand his or her repertoire of tango. info:

For the 12th year, we will propose 2 weeks of tango holidays in the sunny, green, beautiful cradle of Pallanza/Verbania. Surrounded by the Alps, while in the rest of Southern Europe the temperature is mostly over 30°C, you can benefit of the micro climate (+/- 26°C) and the stunning beauty of the Northern Italian lakes.

Accommodation
After the successful experiences of the previous years, we will again be staying in the maginificent historic Grand Hotel Majestic**** in Pallanza/Verbania (Piedmont).
Located on the lakeside promenade of the picturesque town of Pallanza, the hotel is surrounded by beautiful, huge florishing gardens. From its privileged position, you have breathtaking views from almost every angle: the surrounding mountains and the Monte Rosa, the splendid Borromeo Islands in front, and the Lake itself all around.
For the classes and the milongas, the hotel proposes 2 spacious, beautiful, bright rooms, each with sprung floor, direct access to a big terrace, and a beautiful view over the lake.
All rooms have a private bathroom or shower, air conditioning, satellite TV, WiFi, a mini bar. About half of the rooms have a stunning Lake or Mountain view.
The hotel has a small private beach directly on the lake and a wellness centre with an indoor, heated swimming pool with opening glass doors to the astonishing garden. A sauna and a fitness room with modern infrastructure are also available.
The characteristic city of Pallanza is only 1 km away; fashion capital Milan 90 km to the south, Brussels 870 km. The Majestic is easily accessible by car (free parking in front of the hotel), with the train (Verbania) and by airplane (the closest airport is Milano Malpensa, at 70 km).

– until 14 days after reservation: 25€ pp
– from 15 till 60 days after reservation: 50€ pp
– as of 2 months after reservation until 15th June: 75€ pp
– after 15th June: 50% of the reserved package
– after start of the holiday: the total amount is due, unless a last minute replacement can still be found.

After a career in the contemporary dance company Rosas, Marisa & Oliver have been working as a tango couple since 1996, giving workshops and exhibitions all over Europe as well as in the USA and Buenos Aires. They danced in different tango shows in The Netherlands and Belgium and they have trained several of today’s professional tango dancers in Belgium and abroad. They also have vast experience in teaching and organising tango holidays in Italy, France and Austria. Their tango school Al compás del corazón and their milonga in La Tangueria have become a reference for tango in Belgium and abroad.
Selva Mastroti & Marcelo Ramer – Torino/I, Tango University /Association Aldobaraldo

Marcelo & Selva Mastroti were born in Argentina, and have approached tango in adolescence, being trained in Buenos Aires by many of the greatest masters. They are in a couple since over 14 years, and have been working for companies and festivals worldwide. Currently Marcelo & Selva live in Turin. Their lessons are full of passion, they transmit their knowledge with spontaneity and simplicity. They start from the deepest roots of tango, moving through all its facets, from the basics to technical and complex movements never leaving aside musicality and harmony in the couple. In 2017, we have the pleaseuir to invite this couple for the second time after the success of 2016.
Barbara Carpino & Claudio Forte – Siracusa/It, Paladanze

Barbara & Claudio have been dancers since their youngest age, with a sound background in ballet, ballroom and latin dancing. Since 2002 they are into Argentine tango. They are among the most appreciated dancers and teachers in Italy, and they regularly teach and perform in other European countries, as well as in Russia and Asia. Their tango school Paladanze is a reference in Sicily, and the Siracusa Festival was a big international event which gathered some of the best tango maestros and hundreds of international dancers from all over the world. Further to their 4 successful participations since 2012, we are happy to propose Barbara & Claudio again in 2017 as teachers of our tango holidays, for the joy of all participants (and of the organisers)!
Sabine Neumeister & Michel Vero (B) – Abrazo Tango Mons/B

Sabine & Michel are a new tango couple with a lot of experience in other dances, such as tap dancing, classical ballet, ballroom dancing, rock etc. They attend lessons weekly with Marisa & Oliver and have already participated in our tango holidays. They teach weekly tango lessons themselves in Abrazo Tango in Mons and work with a special “tango therapy group” at the Center Hospitalier Régional of Saint Amand les Eaux in France (NB Sabine is a medical practitioner). We are delighted that they will join in 2018 to take a special beginners group under their care.
Classes/Workshops
A part for the beginners group (Group C) in the second week, these holidays are for experienced tango dancers. A minimum of 2 years tango experience (classes and practice) is required to register. The organisers evaluate the level and subdivide the participants into 2 different groups: Group A (intermediate-advanced level), and Group B (advanced up to very advanced level). It is not possible to change group, nor to participate in more than one level.
Each group will have a total of 10 workshops of 90 minutes (15 hours in total, equally taught by the 2 teaching couples : Marisa & Oliver (both weeks) and Selva & Marcelo (1st week) or Barbara & Claudio (2nd week). The beginners have 10,5 hours with Sabine & Michel.
> In the 2nd week it will exceptionally be possible to take all the classes with one of the teaching couples: Marisa & Oliver or Barbara & Claudio (switching between Group A and B), or to take only 5 workshops with one of the couples, instead of all 10 (at 50€ pp off).
There will be a variety of themes in the classes: tango de salón, tango fantasia, tango nuevo, vals and milonga. The classes will focus on technique, as well as on detailed refinements regarding posture, axis & balance, embrace, foot work, adornos, musicality, leading and following. Students will learn new movements, figures and sequences, but the main goal is to create a more harmonious, comfortable and enjoyable dance.
The tango workshops are taught in 2 spacious dancing rooms, each with sprung floor, terrace and lake view: room Intra and room Toscanini. Generally, the classes take place after breakfast and before dinner, and occasionally in the afternoon. Each group will have one full day without classes, to have time to explore the region. The beginners generally will have 1 class per day, 1 day with 2 classes and 1 day free.
A detailed programme of the classes will be sent to the participants about one month before the start of the holidays. The classes will be taught in English (the beginners will be taught in English and French). The teachers also speak French, Dutch, German, Spanish and Italian…
Normally the classes are reserved to the participants of the tango holidays. If the hotel has more vacancy once the 2 groups are completed, we will enable tango dancers to join the holidays for the milongas only.
Milongas
Every evening there will be a milonga in the beautiful dancing hall with sprung floor, big terrace and lake view. A special milonga will be organised during the week with surprise acts and tango shoes and clothes sales. Some of the milongas are also open for outsiders of the tango holidays (after paying entry fee). Previous reservation is compulsory for non hotel guests. Singles
The number of rooms is limited, therefore, until the end of April, priority will be given to dancing couples who register and also share a room together. All registrations are in couples only.
If you don’t have a partner yet, you can fill in a partner form and we will help you by putting you in contact with other singles. Once you are registered in couples, it is not possible to change partner. Therefore, please make sure that you make good agreements and that you get along well together before you decide to register as a dancing couple.
Since only a few single rooms are available, please mention at the moment of reservation if you wish to have a room alone. According to availability as of the end of April, singles can book a separate room with a supplement of 45,- € per day. We encourage singles to share a room (e.g. 2 ladies or 2 men together). We help singles who wish so by putting them in contact with each-other, but we can’t guarantee that we will find a suitable room mate for everybody.

- Arrival is is foreseen on Saturday 28thJuly or Saturday 4th August before dinner (19h00). Departure on Saturday 4th August or Satruday 11th August after breakfast.
- For tango guests who want to arrive earlier or stay longer and for people who accompany dancers (spouses, children, babysitters…) we have negotiated a discount group price. Info and booking via Marisa only, subject to availability. Transmit your extra days at the moment of reservation, to benefit of the best conditions.
ATTENTION: the possibilities to extend your stay after the first week or before the second week are very limited because the departure day of the first group is the same as the arrival day of the second group. - For people who want to participate in the milongas only, we have negotiated a discount group price. Info and booking via Marisa only, subject to availability. Participants who take the full package of hotel + classes + milongas have priority.

Go to the south to the Gotthard Tunnel (CH). Shortly (+/- 30 minutes) after the Gotthard Tunnel take exit 47 Bellinzona Sud/Locarno. Take the A13 Locarno Tenero, continue towards Ascona. Enter Italy, then subsequently follow Cannobbio, Cannero Rivera, Ghiffa, Intra, Verbania.

In 2017, we open the milongas on Thursday at the Grand Hotel Majestic to the local tangueros. In addition we co-organize with the local association La Garufa the two open-air milongas on Friday – also open to the public – in nearby Villa Giulia.

NB. It is also possible, in limited numbers, to participate in the other milongas at the Grand Hotel Majestic. The entry fee is 5 € pp (reservation is always required).
On Friday 28/7 and 4/8, two outdoor milongas will be held in nearby Villa Giulia. The entrance fee is 8 € pp (including a drink). It is also possible to dine before in Villa Giulia (gastronomic menu at a good price). The reservation for milongas in Villa Giulia is only required if you wish to have supper.
