Missed classes & replacements

Missed classes are not reimbursed, but can be caught up during the period of validity of the subscription (bimonthly, quarterly or half-yearly).
> Missed classes can be caught up by the registered couple, or by one of the 2 dancers, with another partner. The replacing partner does not necessarily have to be registered for a weekly class in La Tangueria.
> If an absent dancer is replaced by (and thus cedes his/her place to) another partner, the absent dancer renounces the right to make up the class him/herself.
> Missed classes can be caught up in another group of the same or a lower level, but not in a higher level.
> The repetition classes (last class of a series of 5 or 6) may not be used as a catch-up lesson in a group of another level.

Prices of the classes of the classes in La Tangueria

• Standard package: see prices in table above.
• Shorter series of 6 lessons of 80 minutes at the price of 100€ per person. Registration for a shorter series is possible a few days before start, in groups where there are still places available.
• Students under 25 years: -20%
• 2nd weekly class in the same or a lower level (subject to availability): – 20%; 3rd weekly class: -35%; 4th weekly class: -50%; as of the 5th weekly class: free
• Late entry and shorter series: –10€ pp per lesson less.

Técnica

Since September 2021, the técnica sessions as such have been stopped, and the exercises for posture, balance and axis, refinement, footwork, dissociation/association, musicality,  rhythmic and speed, but also on connection, leading and following, etc. have been integrated in the classes. Specific Técnica workshops can be organised every now and then according to the request from the students. A group of 3 to 6  couples can ask for specific Semi-private coachings to work on aimed movements or techniques.

During the lockdown in early 2021, Marisa and Oliver created a series of 6 lessons “Técnica y musicalidad online“. This can still be ordered at info@tangueria.be (42€ pp, 6 digital lessons of 45/60 minutes).

Practica

To improve the learning process, it is recommended to review the content of the classes in order to assimilate, digest and integrate it into your repertory. On Thursday as of 19:00, while there are classes downstairs, the free practica welcomes the students who want to exercise in the room upstairs of La Tangueria.

Practical information

• Classes in La Tangueria are taught in English and/or French. Registrations have to be made via our online form and payments can be done upfront by bank transfer or the first day in cash. We don’t accept cheques, credit or bank cards.
• The first semester runs from September till February. Registrations start on 10 August.
• The second semester goes from February till June. Students of the first semester have a priority to register in the follow-up of their group. Newcomers can register as of 10 January.
• At first it is possible to register for one level only, and an option can be taken as of the 2nd class. In the groups where there are places left, students can register as of about 10 days before start of the term for extra weekly classes.
• It takes 2 to tango, so you need to register with a partner. We can help you find one via our Facebook group and the partner form.
• La Tangueria also disposes of a limited number of taxi dancers. These advanced students are available to follow an extra class per week with a single student in a lower level. The student  pays for the taxi dancer’s classes (at a reduced price).
